What time should I arrive?
On your first visit to Healthfocus you are asked to arrive 10 minutes early in order to complete the registration form.
What can I expect on my first visit?
Following registration, you will be taken into a private treatment room and the physiotherapist will ask you questions related to your condition with a clinical examination following. The nature of your condition and a treatment plan will be discussed. The agreed treatment plan will normally commence during this first session. The visit will usually take between 20 and 30 minutes but may take up to 45 minutes depending on the condition being treated.
What should I wear?
It may be necessary for the physiotherapist to request you to remove some garments in order to access the area requiring treatment. It is therefore advisable to wear appropriate and comfortable clothing. Shorts are often suitable for treatments.
For sport running injuries please bring your running shoes or relevant sports shoes eg. football boots. For other foot problems please bring your normal shoes for the physiotherapist to view.
What should I bring?
- Referrals from your referring doctor or GP's details
- Any x-rays or medical referral letters
- Health insurance details and card
- Bring a smile and a positive attitude. You will be required to participate in your treatment program in a positive way, to get the best and quickest results. Remember - We are Helping You to Help Yourself.
What are the fees?
Payment will be required following each treatment. Healthfocus has direct electronic claiming from and majority of major Healthfunds. Payments can also be made by Eftpos, Credit Card, Cheque or Cash. Rebates are available from many 'extras' Health Insurance Schemes, Sports Insurance Policies, Workcover, Comcare, Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and others.
Rebates are available through many 'EXTRAS' Health Insurance Schemes and Sports Insurance Policies.
Healthfocus Physiotherapists are accredited providers for Workers Compensation Insurers, Comcare, Transport Accident Commission [TAC] and Department of Veterans' Affairs [DVA].
Healthfocus has electronic payment facilities at all clinics for most healthfunds.

Are Healthfocus accredited?
Wodonga and Lavington practices were among the first Accredited practices in Australia and two of only 25 honoured by the Australian Physiotherapy Association in 2000 for maintaining Accredited Status for the 10 year duration of the program. The APA developed the program to raise environmental, administrative and treatment outcome standards in private physiotherapy practices in the areas of:

- Safety of facilities and equipment
- The development of staff skills and education

Does Healthfocus have a privacy policy?
Your privacy is important to us.
As at 21.12.01, new privacy laws came into operation as a result of public concern about how personal information is used.
Healthfocus Physiotherapy is bound by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000, and operates in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
This practice takes great care to ensure that our information records are accurate and are treated with full regard to the privacy of our patients. We are pleased to discuss our procedures with you, and to amend any inaccuracies.
- Healthfocus collects information that is necessary for good health care. The information we hold may be disclosed only to persons involved in your treatment. We aim to ensure any information we hold is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
- Healthfocus staff may be involved in research on health issues however the information will not identify our patients.
- Health information may also be used for quality assurance or clinical audit activities, which help improve the treatment and service we provide. Data used for this purpose is de-identified wherever possible, to protect the privacy of our patients.
- Our health records are kept in a secure location for staff access only. Security measures include restricted access, clauses in employee agreements requiring confidentiality, document shredding protocols and electronic security.
